The American Bladesmith Society presents the 2017 Journeyman Smith Knife of the Year by Matthew Parkinson, Wolcott, Connecticut. The skill and artistry of Journeyman Smith Parkinson is shown in this video about the making of this knife. This modern dagger was forged in Damascus steel in a “crushed W” pattern with Damascus fittings from the same billet. The Damascus pommel has three inlayed stones and the handle is high grade quilted maple. This outstanding dagger will be available during the 2017 Blade Show in Atlanta, GA June 2-4, 2017 at the Annual ABS Knife Auction.
