We all enjoy the fruits of their labors ...

There has been a new garden every year since 1987!

Some facts - Plants in the 2010 garden are:
390 Marigolds (the label)
700 Basil (the bottle)
475 Purple Alyssum (the grapes)
4200 While Begonias (the background)
Total plants = 5765

The Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City is
a member of the Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc.
and the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation
Organized in 1923, there are 65 members in 2010.

Objectives: to provide education and to promote the love of gardening, landscape and floral design; to encourage civic beautification and environmental responsibility.

Students in the Career-Tech Center are from the 5-county area from over 17 different high schools.

Jennifer Stairs is the English Language Arts teacher working with the class, who also took pictures and drove plants/students today.
Brent Boerema, CTC Assistant Principal, who hauled a load of flowers.
Tiffney was a student 3 years ago and she, along with her grand folks, always volunteer to help. Her grandpa custom fit his trailer for this project!!
