2005 6.0 Powerstroke Garrett Turbo Replacement. Suspecting I had a turbo that was going out, we bought a new Garrett turbo for the 2005 6.0 Powerstroke. The price of the new Garrett turbo was $838.98 dollars as of the upload date of this video from amazon. In this video I go over the steps I took to replace the turbo in our 2005 6.0 Powerstroke. I can already tell you that a ton of power has come back to the 2005 6.0 Powerstroke with less smoke on take off and less turbo whistle at idle. In the video I start with getting stuff out of the way to remove the Garrett turbo so we can drop in the new Garrett turbo. The brand new Garrett turbo came with the needed gasket and o-rings, however the bolt holes for the oil feed tube were smaller than on my other stock Garrett turbo so I had to take 2 bolts out of the compressor housing of the old turbo and put them on the oil feed tube connection.
