Hello everyone to another car commercial of the past! In today's car commercial, we have a quite an amusing little commercial featuring the 2000 Volkswagen Passat. Lets get into the vehicle specifications shall we?
The Volkswagen Passat had a base 1.8 Liter, DOHC, Turbocharged, Inline 4 Engine that produced 150 horsepower at 5,700 RPM, with 155 FT-LBs of torque at 1750 RPM. The only other option was a 2.8 Liter, 6 cylinder engine that produced 190 Horsepower at 6,000 RPM, with 206 FT-LBs of torque at 3,200 RPM.
The base transmission was a 5-speed manual, with a 5 speed automatic being optional. The base drivetype was Front Wheel Drive, with All Wheel Drive being an option.
Two body styles of the Passat were offered. A 4 door sedan variant, or a 4 door wagon variant.
Curb weight for the base Sedan came in at 3,043 LBs, while curb weight for the base Wagon came in at 3,136 LBs. With extra options tacked on, weight will add up an extra 100-500 LBs to the existing base curb weight.
In 2000, the MSRP of the base Passat sedan was $21,200 ($28,750 in 2016), and the base wagon having an MSRP of $22,000 ($29,835 in 2016.)
