In todays video we are going to be looking at 2 methods for adding Switchbot products to Home Assistant to control them locally.
The first method uses the Switchbot integration. In recent updates and changes to Bluetooth in Home Assistant this integration has become a lot more functional and can now also discover Switchbot devices. However in my experience there is still some delay and issues where devices state doesn't change.
The second method we are looking at employs an ESP32 to act as a bridge between Switchbot devices and Home Assistant. It's a little more work but has great results.
