In today’s video, we’re taking a look at 4 Home Assistant automations for the SwitchBot S20 robot vacuum that I use in my own setup!.
Whether you love robot vacuums or think they’re still a bit hit and miss, there’s no denying they make life easier — especially if you’ve got kids, pets, or just a busy household.
In this video, I’ll show you how I’ve automated my SwitchBot S20 so it cleans when I’m out, stops for maintenance when it’s due, and even handles room-specific cleaning (with a bit of janky magic between Home Assistant and HomeKit).
All of these automations can be done within the SwitchBot app, but I’m running everything through Home Assistant — because that’s where the real power and flexibility are.
We’ll cover:
- Scheduled cleaning
- Clean-on-leave
- Forced maintenance
- Janky zone cleaning
