Chronic emotional stress keeps the body in a constant state of fight or flight, raising cortisol, weakening immunity and over time creating the kind of internal environment where disease finds it easier to take root.

Guilt and shame in particular are known to be among the heaviest emotions because they don't just make you feel bad about what you did, they make you feel bad about who you are. 😞

Here are a few simple things you can start with to work on releasing these:

πŸ“– Learn about your emotions. Understanding why you feel what you feel takes away a lot of its grip. Even reading or watching something on emotional health counts.
Remember, awareness is always the first step out!

πŸ“ Write it or say it out loud. Journalling is so commonly discussed these days but it is one of the most effective ways to move an emotion out of the body because it takes what is endlessly spinning in your head and puts it somewhere outside of you, which makes it easy to focus on what to do about it rather than just feeling it.

β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή Forgive yourself first and stop being punished by your own mind. Convert your guilt into something useful, think about the ways you can make things better for yourself and the people around you now instead. Do things you love, help people in need around you whenever you can, it will make you realise of the goodness and love that you have within you and around you.

πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ Move your body. A walk, a run or a regular yoga practice. Any movement you enjoy can help the nervous system release what words sometimes cannot.

If you're ready to start that journey, join our 3-day Master Your Mind workshop where we go into understanding your thoughts, breaking old patterns, and learning how to come back to yourself with more clarity 🧠
