My unsuccessful attempt at requesting Aiken public records online has led me to an in person visit to this historic county courthouse. Deputies greet me with unlawful orders,
then point me to where I need to go. Nice ladies at the cashers window further help by calling someone, and then asking me to wait outside.
The Clerk of Court arrives introduces himself and kindly invites me into his office. He provides me with a FOIA request form, I show him the typo on it. He thanks me for bringing this to his attention, and confirms that there's no restrictions on camera use in the public areas outside of the courtrooms. I then make my way out and chat with the deputies. They accuse me of loitering. I tell them my purpose, and then exit without further incident.
