The PEGASYS Awards is an annual video competition and awards ceremony for public and educational access producers in Ithaca, NY organized by staff and volunteers of Ithaca's PEGASYS Community Media Center. Host of the 1999 Awards is Lauren Stefanelli, Studio Coordinator. Introduction by Phil Smith, General Manager of Time Warner Cable. Producers competed in 10 categories. Winners were: 1. Arts Event, Wies van Leuken; 2. Variety, Fred Topel; 3. Religion, Mike Competillo; 4. Political, IHS Gun Hill Studio Students; 5. Talk Show, Wies van Leuken; 6. Youth, IHS Gun Hill Studio Students; 7. Documentary, Shwe Htee; Instructional, John Tagamolila; 9. Short Subject, Jeff Spence/IHS; 10. Professional, Paul Smith.
