Today I actually test the sound quality of the 1979 TDK D True Mechanism cassette. Since I need something to compare to, I compared it to the 1990 TDK D.

So yes... OOPS! I said it was a 1988 in the video. To be fair, my first take it was actually the 1988, but I screwed up the audio out and had to redo the video. They both look similar so I took the wrong tape for the 2nd take. Oh well...

Anyways, I say 1988 in the video, but it's actually a 1990 version (the next version of the TDK D). Both 1988 and 1990 have the same shell and tape, just a different printing on the shell and J-Cards and wrappers. In fact, I didn't catch the switch because the calibration is the same for both tapes. So now we know... 1988 and 1990 TDK D the tape and shell is the same!
