During the exhibitions of these championships, a very cool thing took place. The organising committee honoured a number of past champions who were present at the competition, presenting them to the audience. It is quite the line up!! In order of appearance:

Anna Hubler - 1908 Olympic paris champion and world pairs champion in 1908 and 1910 with Heinrich Burger
Pierre Brunet - Olympic pairs champion in 1928 and 1932 and four time world pairs champion with his wife Andree.
Karl Schafer - 1932 & 1936 Olympic and seven time world champion.
Cecilia Colledge - 1937 world champion, 1936 Olympic silver medallist and twice european champion.
Dick Button - two time Olympic champion and five time world champion 1948 - 1952
Laurence Demmy - four time world ice dance champion 1952 - 1955
John Nicks (looking very cool!) world pairs champion in 1953 with his sister Jennifer.
Donald Jackson - 1962 world champion
Donald Macpherson - 1963 world champion
Manfred Schnelldorfer - 1964 Olympic and world champion
Petra Burka - 1965 world champion
Emmerich Danzer - three time world champion 1966 - 68
Diane Towler - four time world ice dance champion with Bernard Ford 1966-69
Trixie Schuba - 1972 Olympic and two time world champion
