Here is a 1974 Bally Sky Kings pinball machine in action. This game has the same playfield and ruleset as Bally's 1974 4-player CHAMP.
I have to admit, this is one of my favourite machines from this era and most people will think I'm crazy for saying so. This game is the ultimate in simplicity: light the yellow and green captive ball lanes by hitting the mushroom bumpers or the saucer or the lanes at the top of the playfield. Once the captive ball lanes are lit, hit the captive balls all day long to increase the bonus, light the extra ball and the special. The special lights at the top of the captive ball lanes when the bonus reaches 15K. Hit the spinner for fun and to also increase the bonus. That's it!
It is possible to get a pattern going when hitting the captive balls because a decent shot to one captive ball will result in the ball landing in the in-lane where a shot to the other captive ball can be made. Doing this repeatedly is quite satisfying.
