Our restored 1959 15' Lone Star Continental run-a-bout, powered by a 1964 Evinrude 40 HP 'Big Twin' outboard motor. We purchased our Lone Star boat from a friend of ours who lived in Engelwood, FL at the time. She was in such a dilapidated state when we first saw her that we questioned our wisdom to tackle this restoration, but certainly now we are glad we did. She is bright white Imron Urethane enamel on the bottom hull section, and 'Niagra Falls' Blue for the top sides. Niagra Falls blue was the color used on Dodge Power Wagon pick-up trucks back in the early 1970's. The engine is a 1964 Evinrude 40 HP 'Big Twin' which pushes 'Nadine' along at 25 mph. We named our boat after the Chuck Berry song by the same name. 1959 was one of the first years that boats were constructed in fiberglass. Before switching to fiberglass the Lone Star company built their boats from aluminum. The Lone Star boat company had factories in Texas, Pennsylvania and Florida.
