I think it can be very daunting when you start doing curl sets because everywhere you look online there are these perfect sleek looking curls, conforming the the perfect idea of what a 'pinup' hairstyle should look like but if you look closer there are plenty that involve a bit of frizz and volume to the curls. Don't be afraid to try out a roller set and brush out because as long as you have let your rollers dry enough then you are going to get a great style. Just keep on a brushin' and a fluffin' and you'll get there. REMEMBER your finished style should not have to conform to a particular look - there were PLENTY of variations and many many different styles in the 50's and yours is just as good as anybody elses. It is useful to remember that gals back then were just girls doing their hair - just like you. Go for it!!

I don't have a favourite era, it changes all the time. One day it'll be Edwardian hairstyles that I'm all over, the next, pinup girl hair, the next I'll be all about Greek Goddesses and their crazy Barnets! I just love it all!
