Relive the iconic, military-style soundtrack and classic sound effects of Capcom's legendary 1984 vertical shoot 'em up 1942!
Designed by Yoshiki Okamoto, 1942 became a cornerstone of arcade history. Set in the Pacific Theater of World War II, players piloted a Super Ace fighter plane, dodging dense enemy fire, performing emergency loop-de-loops, and taking down massive enemy bomber fleets across 32 challenging stages.
The distinct, march-like chiptune soundtrack was composed by Ayako Mori. Driven by dual General Instrument AY-3-8910 sound chips, the minimalistic snare-drum rhythms and tense melodies perfectly captured the high-stakes aerial combat of early 80s arcades.
