The 16 mm film was made in 1938 by Douglas Flintoff to promote the sale of the property by the Dunsmuir. The property is now the location of Royal Roads University.

In her will, the widowed Laura Dunsmuir instructed her trustees to sell Hatley Park. In 1937, the property was valued at approximately $260 000 and cost about $1 500 a month to maintain which none of her children could afford.

This is a link to the Maynard and Sons auction catalogue for all the sale of the goods from the property.

An original copy of this film was donated to the Royal Roads University Archives, where it is now stored.

I added the music.
