I am REALLY sorry I didn't try a Large bore Strad earlier; this horn is NOT hard or demanding on me at all - and I'm not a power player, either. I like the sound on this vid as well as any horn I've played; I think the tone is very nice on this Large bore, 25 bell Strad. So, moving on... A super Large Bore, 25 Bell Bach Stradivarius played here. I use 4 mouthpieces, the original and then 3 MK Tuning Slides, listed in order below.
1. A GR64MS mouthpiece, and the original Bach tuning slide. (2:15)
2. A Reeves C2J (deep flugel/trumpet mouthpiece) with a MK Bronze Radial Unbraced Slide. (4:15) Maybe I should have played, 'They Call Me Mellow Yellow...' :)
3. A Reeves 42B mouthpiece and a MK Brass Radial Braced tuning slide. (6:35)
4. A GR63Z mouthpiece and a MK Nickel-Silver D-style braced slide. (9:05)
5. A bonus; a '59 Mt. Vernon Strad M bore with a MK Brass Radial Tuning slide (14:05)
