At the 2026 Large Cars and Guitars Truck Show, Chris caught up with Jackson Sullivan of S&T Construction to check out his hard-working 2007 Peterbilt 379 log truck.
This Pete is powered by a C15 ACERT twin-turbo CAT MXS engine backed by a 13-speed Eaton Fuller transmission and 3.36 rears. With 1.7 million miles showing on the dash, this truck still spends its days traveling into logging sites, hauling timber and occasionally making longer runs as far as Ohio.
Jackson grew up around the family business and spent years riding in the company’s trucks before his father handed this Peterbilt over to him. Since purchasing it in 2020, the family has completely transformed the truck with new stacks, step boxes, window chops, visors, fenders and plenty of custom details.
Even though it regularly travels off-road, the truck is washed as many as four times a week to keep it looking show-ready. The matching log trailer is equipped with approximately 100 lights and four underglow lights that illuminate the entire underside at night.
Jackson also explains the skill and patience required to haul logs safely, why no two days in the logging business are the same and what he enjoys about attending a non-judged truck show where drivers can simply meet, talk and enjoy the trucks.
