I've always wanted to find a nice scenic place with a good view, maybe staring up at the sky from the edge of a building or looking out at a vast ocean. Knowing that a place like that can be difficult to find, I don't mind making it either. If that means building it piece by piece with 14,000 dominoes, then that's what I'll do.
This project showcases recreations of some of the most beautiful images or scenery that I've seen. I focused especially on color distribution and project density but I also tried to maintain an overall feeling of simplicity – basic fields, walls, etc. It's been a long and difficult senior year so my building skills were a little rusty. There were two fails in the falldown because of that (one of them unedited) but I'm still happy to learn from them.
In a way, I've finally found that perfect world. The dominoes may not exactly be calming, but I have found serenity while building. My perfect, peaceful world is in my building room, or wherever I can create the scenery I want to see. Don't worry about any project flaws or the accuracy of the word "serene" – it's 14,000 dominoes. Sit back and enjoy.
This project goes out to all the people I have met that support and accept me as a domino builder. To know you means so much. I am happy, surprised, and at peace knowing that I have journeyed this far.
