After a lot of winding paths around this whole place, I finally found our serpent. Despite being leveled pretty high, he hits like well, a truck so I left and found that upgrading the wind spear helped a bit.

As is tradition, a disgusting transition phase for the second part of the battle but was nice to finally wrap up the Volcano Manor quests.
