12V 5A Battery charger for charging lead acid batteries of up to 50AH rating capacity.
Works for all types of lead acid batteries like Tubular Inverter battery, Sealed batteries and automobile batteries.
Working:
The circuit uses a 14v step-down transformer which converts 220v ac to 14v ac. The output of the transformer is connected to a full wave rectifier which converts 14v AC into 14v DC. The DC14v is given to the battery for charging. The output voltage will be maximum 14v which is enough for 12v batteries to reach the maximum charging voltage of 14v. The maximum charging current will be 5Amps which can charge 12v batteries upto 50AH / 80AH capacity.
Simple and Low cost design
Use a good quality transformer with HD core for getting more amps and less heat.
