So, I'm still yet to resume VHS collection digitising from where I left off before December came along so on a whim, I decided to check out part of what I got from last year with ads and seeing how much I could share that's free of that one strange quirk that keep popping up every once in a while with this player...or something, still unsure what causes that but case and point, it seems like what's featured here is free from that quirk so here you go for now! When I redigitise this tape to cover over those quirks, there *will* be a Part 2 later but for now...
...so, the same tape that features some of Sky 1 from 1996 mainly has the 1998 film "Elizabeth" as it was the latest thing taped onto here and up until recently, I didn't fully realise that because the film's FilmFour-produced, this airing was from Channel 4 itself...so I've never actually seen the ad breaks between what turns out to be the film's network TV premiere (and maybe also UK TV premiere in general, if it didn't get shown on the FilmFour channel before-hand?). By this point, Channel 4 were already experimenting with minimizing how zippy the ad breaks are, but even so it's quite surprising just how tightly they get back to the film after the ad breaks are done. The transitions where the image formats from widescreen to 4:3 and back are present here for the sake of preserving how this was presented. Otherwise, not much else to say here, enjoy!
