How is it that truly bizarre actions, without any solid basis in God’s Word, can attract thousands of Christians, while also spawning dozens of pastors and churches to replicate the very same? There is no credible Scriptural support for people laughing out loud in a church service, hysterically and uncontrollably, or even howling like a wolf and making barking sounds like a dog, as supposed evidence of God’s Holy Spirit being poured out. This supposed “new” outpouring of God’s Spirit is anything but new, as it started in the mid-19th century, has been copied for decades, and the “hands-on transfer” to others is troubling similar to the dervish practices of Islamic mysticism.
