Als Geek Lab | 10MHz V20 XT vs 6 MHz 286 - What's faster? @AlsGeekLab | Uploaded August 2020 | Updated October 2024, 1 minute ago.
I had no idea whether an XT-clone rated at 10MHz NEC V20 CPU with an 8087 co-processor, or an XT machine with a 6MHz Intel 80286 CPU and an 80287 co-processor would be faster.
In this quicky video, I consider the logic behind saying that because 10 is a good bit bigger a number than 6, that's better? Surely an 80287 would be better than an 8087? Right??? Well, the results may surprise you.
Of course, the results are all 100% scientific. Legit scienciefied. The final benchmark which concludes everything is the old 'Which one loads up Leisure Suit Larry 3' test. Y'all know that one, right? ;)

Sorry about the horrific flashing of the CGA monitor. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that ;(
