Having had success with my 6m Mini-Horse I decided to design one for 10m and at the same time find out the tuning required for anyone wanting to build one for the CB frequencies which are just below the 10m amateur band.
I will use this as a temporary installation in the spring/summer months when 10m is more active as a band. The antenna is simple to put together and dismantle again. In this first video, I make a test-build and tune the mini-horse for the first time. In the follow-up video I will show some more of the detail of the design, the final build and the measurements you need to build your own.

I mention chokes in this video. Below is a link to an excellent source of information on air-wound and ferrite chokes by Steve G3TXQ (SK). You can see through Steve's work, that using the correct ferrite is always better than an air-wound choke as it will be high impedance and resistive over a wide range of frequencies, whereas an air-wound choke will have a lesser effect and be quite specific in frequency. karinya.net/g3txq/chokes
