Two years later… is the Ancheer Gladiator e-bike still worth it? amzn.to/4bMnkN9
In this video, I give a real-world, long-term review of my Ancheer Gladiator electric mountain bike after about 1,000 miles of riding. I use this bike at least once a week, and today I’m sharing what has held up great, what went wrong, and what I’ve learned along the way.
Overall, this e-bike has been extremely reliable for the price. I’m still getting a top speed of 19 mph, the battery performance has stayed strong, and I haven’t had any major mechanical failures. It’s light enough to carry on the front rack of a city bus, which makes it very practical for everyday transportation.
That said, I did run into a couple of issues:
🔋 Battery connection problem – At one point the bike wouldn’t power on. I discovered the issue was caused by slightly bent connector pins from repeatedly removing the battery to charge it. After straightening the pins (thanks to another helpful YouTube video), everything worked perfectly again. Lesson learned: I now leave the battery on the bike and charge it there.
💡 Light wire damage – I installed a front basket and didn’t notice it was pushing a wire into the tire. Eventually the wire rubbed through. Totally my fault, but worth mentioning so others can avoid it.
🛠 Minor wear – The brakes have become a bit squeaky, likely just from dirt and normal use. Otherwise, no real maintenance problems so far.
I was not very impressed with the manufacturer’s customer service when I reached out, although I eventually did get a response. Still, for the price I paid, the bike itself has been a great value.
One of my subscribers has the same bike and has put over 8,000 miles on his, which gives me even more confidence in the long-term durability of this model.
If you’re looking for an affordable electric mountain bike for casual riding, errands, or local transportation, the Ancheer Gladiator has been a solid choice for me.
