Ten Years to Save the World is a project supported by the British Council as part of a number of creative commissions in response to climate change and COP26.
Our project hopes to demonstrate how the comics medium can stimulate climate change action through the creation of a comic digital anthology.
The project is a partnership between The Lakes International Comic Art Festival (based in the UK) KOMIKET (based in the Philippines) and Creative Concern (a communications agency specialising in sustainability).
We have commissioned ten internationally-recognised comic and graphic artists – five from the Philippines and five from the UK. They will represent the diversity and quality of the medium, they will have international profiles and are influencers on social media.
The Ten Years to Save the World comic anthology will be a collection of 10 comics, of various lengths and forms, to represent each of the ten years left to save the world and to enable us to tackle different issues and different climate actions.
The project will be simultaneously launched in the Philippines and the UK as part of the build-up to COP26.

About the creative commissions
10 Years to Save the World is one of at least 14 creative commissions supported by the British Council exploring climate change through art, science and digital technology. The commissions will be developed by individuals and organisations in the UK working with partners in 28 countries. These partnerships actively involve young people, as well as other groups and communities who are underrepresented in climate change discussions. They bring together artists, technologists, city planners, engineers, thought leaders, activists, scientists and others.
The aspiration for these commissions is to stimulate global conversations about climate change, and to inspire transformational change.
