15-20 gems, 5 weather pains for Misery Toadstool in 10 minutes?!?!? They are easy to mass produce, cheap to fuel (b/c gems ain't no issue), and deal a ton of damage.
Catapult deals 42.5 damage every 2.5 seconds (17 DPS). One generator can fit 9 catapults, which is 153 damage.
"Mighty Wolfgang's DPS with a Morning Star is much higher than 153. On a dry target Wolfgang's DPS with Morning Star is 173.4 (43.35 base damage, x2 hits per second, x2 Mighty bonus multiplier). On a wet target it's 289. The catapults only beat him in single-target DPS once you have 18 of them for a total of 306 DPS." - Swanky Psammead (Thank you!)
I can fit anywhere from two to three of these stations for most bosses to kill them like child's play (306 DPS/406 DPS).
