Many of us love historical fashion and maybe even adore wearing it, but are perhaps a little afraid to dive into sewing our own historical clothing. Just a year ago, I was terrified of making my own historical dress, but I finally took the plunge and it was so worth it!
In this historical sewing for beginners video, I simplify the process of developing your historical toolkit by discussing the 10 essential sewing tools you will need to make historical clothing. For those just starting out with hand sewing or historical sewing, it might feel overwhelming not knowing which tools to buy. Historical dress often utilises hand-sewing techniques, and some of the tools needed are more specialised. This video explains the essentials, along with a few bonus tools in case you have a bigger budget. This is the first video in the playlist series “Historical Sewing for Beginners”.
