Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist, filmmaker, and cultural icon who played a pivotal role in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Warhol began his career as a commercial illustrator before becoming a prominent figure in the New York City art scene.
Throughout his career, Warhol's artwork explored themes of consumerism, celebrity culture, and mass media, often featuring subjects such as Campbell's soup cans, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley. He also experimented with a variety of mediums, including silkscreen printing, painting, sculpture, and film.
