After 5 years on the road in van life, I'm making a big change that will impact my life in a very positive way. Traveling for 5 years in a van and RV has been absolutely amazing, but I need a change. That change came in the form of how I travel. I had to adjust or I was at risk of quitting van life. My anxiety on the road was becoming detrimental and a change needed to happen quickly. I'm excited about this new chapter in my van life and creating more and more stories while traveling full-time. I don't think this change is bad at all or should be construed as bad - it's just that we must adjust sometimes when something isn't working anymore. Now was the time to make the change. Some people were guessing some huge crazy changes like buying a house in Mexico, quitting van life, or shacking up with a man. Yeah...not that crazy right now. lol

Dealing with loneliness and relationships as a solo van life female RVer is a huge priority for mental health awareness. I get the question quite frequently, Are you lonely or Is van life lonely? I understand the intent behind the question because most of society has community and relationships around them to combat loneliness. However, when you are living in a van full time and moving around a lot, it may seem like one could get lonely.
In this video, I share my experience with dealing with loneliness and relationships. The truth is, I like to be lonely at times and I like the solitude that comes with van life. I dont think it matters if your male or female, we all experience loneliness even when you arent solo.

Hi, Im Amber and in May 2017 I started full time RV living. I started this nomadic journey after selling my house and all my belongings to pursue this crazy dream of traveling full time in an RV and creating incredible memories.
After 1 year of traveling, I sold my 26 foot Winnebago Class C RV for a more nimble Class B van on a Promaster 2500 chassis. Now in my 5th year of RVing in my camper van, Im still loving this RV lifestyle and being a digital nomad. I almost always boondock in nature and really enjoy that off grid living.

Google Maps Route Planner is a tool (Google My Maps) that Im going to show you how to use to plan the best route for your next trip including pinning all your places you want to visit, i.e. pin the restaurants, pin places to stay, pin things to do, pin destinations, pin hiking and biking trails, pin people to visit! Its easy and it only takes a few minutes to set-up and get you going once you know exactly what to do. Once youve pinned everything, you can then figure out where you want to travel to in that area. Google My Maps can seem a little daunting at first, but once you know how to use it, youll love it!
