Why Use 0CC?: forums.famitracker.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3301
Well, this is it for 0CC(at least until I get to expansion chips)! These effects are very, very niche, and I have almost never used them. Also, Sxx is not a typo; it has been slightly edited for 0CC. As a slight addition to the video, Sxx can also be used with very low values to create drum-like sounds or can be strung together with a Speed of 1 to make a croaking or phone noise.
In case you're wondering, Exx used to be a volume control effect, before the volume column existed. It was kept around for compatibility reasons until 0CC removed it for good.
Exx Values(go to 'Table Structure'): wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/APU_Length_Counter
Exx-2A03 Length Counter Control Effect(*)
xx-Value to Count to(00-1F)(See above)
Sustained, disabled but not cancelled by EE0
EEx-2A03 Hardware Envelope Control Effect(*)
x-Type of Hardware Envelope to Enable(0-3)
On the Pulse/Noise Channels:
0-Disable Hardware Envelopes
1-Enable Looped Hardware Decay(Same as 0 on Noise)
2-Enable Length Counter
3-Enable Hardware Decay(Same as 0 on Noise)
When Hardware Decay is enabled, the volume column determines the speed of the decay(0 = Fastest, F = Slowest)
On the Triangle Channel:
0/2-Disable Length/Linear Counter
1/3-Enable Length/Linear Counter
Sustained, cancelled with EE0
Sxx-Triangle-Only Linear Counter Control Effect(*)
xx - 80-Time to Wait Before Cutting in 240ths of a second(80-FF)
Sustained, cancelled by EE0
All hardware effects are reset by new notes or by moving to certain frequencies.
0:00 Exx
0:52 EEx
2:39 Sxx
