The album "Songs and Stories about the Justice League of America" came out back in the '70s. I owned a copy then, but now, all I have are the mp3 versions. Still, I thought it might be nice to share them. The songs and stories were all written by the late Arthur Korb. There's no indication whatsoever who sang or spoke on the album.
Here are the lyrics:
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
This is the story of the Element Man.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Starts out in old Egypt land.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Rex Mason was his real name.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
A soldier of fortune, didn't care about fame.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Until fate took a hand in the game
What a change!
So strange!
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Trapped in a pyramid he saw a light.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
It came from a glowing meteorite.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Shooting cosmic rays stronger than the sun
Through his body and brain and when it was done
There!
(Yeah!)
There!
(Yeah!)
There!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, there! (Yeah, yeah, yeah, there!)
Stood the Element Man!
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Strong as iron, homely as sin.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
He'll change into copper, colbalt, or tin.
(Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
Rearrange his molecules just like that (Ah...)
Become anything he'd like at the drop of a hat (Ah...)
Be a hero, a king, yet he'd chuck it all if he (Ah...)
Could be the one thing he just can't be (Ah...)
Plain Rex Mason, I know 'cause you see (Ah...)
I am the Element Man! (Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
The Element Man! (Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
The Element Man! (Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
The Element Man! (Metamorpho, Metamorpho!)
The Element Man!
I always get chills when it gets to that point of the song, because it's just so tragic.
