SPARCY Squirrel is the mascot of the SPARC atmospheric research trailer, a portable laboratory on wheels equipped with several atmospheric observing instruments.
SPARCY hopes to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers through the joy of curiosity and hands-on learning. Through science, SPARCY seeks to build a better understanding of our planet, weather, and atmospheric science.
The SPARC trailer is led by scientists and engineers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center, and travels across the continental United States measuring weather and various atmospheric phenomena.
The SPARC is supported by the Space Science and Engineering Center and The National Science Foundation.
