Let's Play Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (PC)
#03: No Man's Wharf
Far below Heide's Tower of Flame, down some stairs, down an elevator, down more stairs, through a cave... is a cove... at sea level. Wat? Welcome to No Man's Wharf, where space is convoluted and geography makes no sense.
Here it is dark, and full of pirate hollows. We'll also run across our favorite NPC yet again, Lucatiel of Mirrah, whom we met briefly in Lost Bastille (just before McDuff); she seeks to remove the curse as well, revealing her face behind the mask. To complete her quest, we'll need to summon her and successfully defeat a certain amount of bosses with her help. The Flexile Sentry up ahead is quite pathetic, as long as you stay on his good side.

This is a casual playthrough where I recreate my favorite old DEX/INT build. The pacing is a bit faster than my usual style; this is not a comprehensive walkthrough, and I will be skipping some items/enemies/sections. I will kill all bosses. I have not played DkS2 since before the release of the third game earlier this year, and in recent months I've been very engrossed in DkS1; this is my revisitation of DkS2, to once and for all gain a proper perspective on all three games in the series.

You may recall a curious old man in a cushioned wheelchair... this is Darkdiver Grandahl, and he wishes to shepard the seekers of Dark into the Chasms of Old...
Talking to him at all three locations (Black Gulch, Castle Drangleic, Shaded Ruins) will allow one seeker such as ourselves to enter his covenant, and the chasms. The goal is to defeat the dark phantoms within them, light the large basins with a torch, and jump into the foggy chasm at the end of each one. At the end of the third chasm, we will be able to face the Darklurker.

The nearest town is a few minute walk south of the dungeons exit... Gothway Garden. Theres a handful of taverns, guildhalls, & General Stores around town, one of them being a Rusty Relic type, meaning the BEST deals! Perfect spot to unload my loot and pickup a cart & horse. After a bit of bartering, its off to join the Mages Guild...
