(+ more)The China Traveller2024-07-22 | I got up bright and early to go to one of China's most famous morning markets: Hongzhuan Street Morning Market. At 7 a.m., the place was already PACKED! I've never seen so many queues so early in the morning. And in China, if you see people queueing for food, that usually means they're waiting to buy something that tastes really bloody good.
But to make the experience a bit more fun, I decided to join the longest queues at the market, and buy whatever was waiting for me once I got to the front. And in doing so, I discovered one of the most amazing breakfast dishes I've ever tried, Spare Rib Bao Buns!
Bao buns, with an entire spare rib (plus bone!) inside!!!!!

Rio is a well-known Chinese food vlogger from the Northeast of China, and one of the interesting things about her is that no matter how much she eats, she doesn't get full!
I was sceptical of this, so I decided to see whether I could keep up with her at a kebab buffet spot. I didn't know Beijing had kebab buffets, but apparently they do! They're quite common in fact.
