Modern techniques of training have enormously increased soldiers' willingness to kill, but the consequences of this success are yet to be fully understood. A man who is not a natural born killer may have a tough time dealing with the fact that his training led him to do things that his natural reluctance would have prevented.

I was in the region for a week or so, and every night saw children out at all hours and all seemed fine. Admittedly, clement evening weather helped, which not all the world has quite so often. I suppose that this is an 'opinion piece'. It does seem to me that modern parents should be more like their grandparents, and let children roam free more. Would any of my opinions on child-rearing ever survive contact with my actual children? I may never know.

Why is the picture quality in the opening shot so ropey? That's a fair question, and I wish I knew the answer. My editing software decided to throw the colours all over the shop while it was at it. Thank goodness that it doesn't really matter. My editing software offered to render the video in 1080x1920 in a file 357MB big, or in the same resolution but different format in a file of 410GB, as well as several sizes in between, all supposedly the same quality, with no hint of explanation. It is possible that I went too far here. The too-long-didn't-watch summary is: typical DJs who get booked for weddings and conference parties tend not to be terribly good, adaptable, vigilant, knowledgeable about dancing when they should be, and tend to be a bit more self-centred than is optimal for their role at an event.

Channel page: http://www.youtube.com/user/LindybeigeA Chap and a Uke plays Awfully Different Without YouLindybeige2021-10-14 | I always thought that this song was called 'Awfully Different Without You'. In fact it is called 'Don't Get Around Much Any More', but my mistaken title is every bit as good, I think. It was written by Duke Ellington (notes) and Bob Russell (words) but often gets attributed elsewhere because it has been covered so many times. Often, 'Any More' is written 'Anymore' but I'm British and we don't hold with that sort of thing.
Pretty much every time I have heard this, most often at a dance, I have interpreted the first line as 'Mister Saturday Night' and this makes me think that it is some awful song celebrating someone wonderful, especially since most of the music accompanying it is brassy and upbeat, but when one hears the lyrics properly, they are rather touching.
I like playing sad songs on my uke, because sad songs are slower and so much easier to play.

Editing this took a LONG time. We had three cameras recording at the same time, and synching the footage up took an age. In 2020 it was held on-line and won a tourism prize for this. The current plan is to go ahead with the fully-physical festival in 2021.
In this, I introduce the viewer to the place, the festival, and I concentrate on the non-military side of the festival, which recreates the everyday lives of ordinary people of the (mainly later) middle ages.

From the comments, I have learned that the 'OT' in 'OT-810' stood for "Obrněný Transportér" in Czech, which means, rather predictably, 'armoured vehicle', Also, it seems that the Czechoslovakian factory that made them is now in Slovakia, after the break up of the country (or 'Velvet Divorce') in 1993.

I review a lot of fantasy gaming miniatures, and point out that there are some things about them that wouldn't work even in a fantasy world.
I make no criticism of the quality of the sculpting, which is mostly very high. Instead, I criticise (and sometimes praise) the design.
I was amused to see that on the Reaper Miniatures web-site the figures are described as "25mm Heroic Scale Fantasy Miniatures" which seems to me to be a contradiction. If these figures are '25mm' they must measure from the chin to the knee.
