The technology involves combining radioactive isotopes taken from nuclear waste with layers of paneled Nanodiamonds stacked in a battery cell. Micro-sized single-crystal diamonds move heat away from the radioactive isotope materials quickly that the transaction generates electricity. Battery stacks are coated with a layer of polycrystalline diamond, which is known for being the most thermally conductive material. This material also can contain the radiation within the device and is the hardest material, 12 times tougher than stainless steel. This makes the battery safe to use, extremely tough, and tamperproof. The company is working on this nuclear battery since 2012 and these batteries will be available in the market in 2023. This battery is being developed for deep space missions but the company is also developing a consumer model which can last up to 9 years. Consumer models can power smartphones, cars, and almost every electronic device. This means rechargeable batteries are gone and we can get rid of battery chargers too. The use of diamonds and nuclear material will make this battery highly expensive. while providing green energy forever, this battery will also consume nuclear waste and reduce battery waste.

They have equipped this spot robot with artificial intelligence and sensors to navigate through treacherous terrains. This Boston Dynamics robot dog is currently being tested in outdoor locations that mimic the Martian landscape. These robots can maneuver in ways the iconic wheeled rovers such as Curiosity and Perseverance never could. With their sensors, they can avoid obstacles, choose between multiple paths and build virtual maps of caves and buried tunnels. NASA has already sent three rovers to Mars called opportunity, curiosity, and Perseverance as part of its ongoing mars missions. Rovers are mostly limited to flat surfaces but these robots can explore very rough terrains of Mars. Toppling of a rover means mission failure but these robots can self-right from a multitude of falls. A Mars dog would also be 12 times lighter than the current rover and it can travel much faster. Current Curiosity rover speed on mars is 0.09 mph (0.14 km/h) while this robot can reach the speed of 3 mph (5 km/h). Caves on Mars may harbor evidence of life and may offer shelter for future human colonies. These robots can walk on rocks, lower themselves into caves and select a path. They can also collect measurements and build a map of what they see, hence ideal for Mars caves exploration. A team of 60 scientists and engineers at CoSTAR equipped Au-Spot with networked sensors and AI software. Au-spot uses laser, visual, thermal, and motion sensors to create 3D Maps. It uses AI Software to learn which structures to avoid and identify objects that may be of scientific interest. Communications module allows the robot to transfer data to the surface while it's exploring underground. NASA wants to send human missions to Mars by the 2030s. This robot could help Martians with difficult tasks on the red planet. Colonizing Mars and sending robots to Mars will take time but you will see these robots very soon in sci-fi movies.

They have created an experimental device called MOXIE. Moxie is a part of the perseverance rover which was launched on July 30th, 2020 as a part of the NASA Mars mission 2020. Nasa Moxie device works like a tree, it pulls in the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere then uses an electrochemical process to separate two oxygen atoms from each molecule of carbon dioxide. This New method to generate oxygen on Mars will help astronauts on mars missions. Nasa has already sent curiosity rover and Opportunity rover on the Mars missions but this perseverance rover with moxie is crucial for sending a human mission to Mars. Recently, scientists at the Washington University in St. Louis have proposed a new way to make oxygen on Mars which uses a completely different resource --- salty water in the lakes beneath the Martian surface.
