I finally walk again as we return to The Midnight Walk to see if we can improve the blurry vignette issue ourselves since we haven't received any help from the devs, and of course we're coming back for more impressive storytelling and visuals, albeit still with limited game performance at 120Hz over Virtual Desktop.

On this YouTube network, we have been playing Fallout 4 in virtual reality for nearly an entire decade, spanning from an early retrofit using VorpX and the desktop version of the game, later rebooting our series on the game for the native VR edition of Fallout 4. Throughout all this time we never quite got to the end of the game... and finally, this all changes today. War may never change, but finally, the Stereo3DProductions newtwork is proud to announce that we've finally completed Fallout 4 VR!

We haven't been in Borderlands 3 in quite some time with UEVR Injector and so the VR adaptation very likely has received some major updates by now! Let's go see if the cutscenes are more enjoyable, if the port works better and if the new setup is easy to get through! We'll also be using Playstation VR 2 this time around, for one to test another headset with UEVR Injector and for two, because the OLED displays on this kit might shine with this game's wild colors!

After 8 years of wait, Ape Law Studios released Alice's Lullaby, a sequel to their excellent vr horror game Albino Lullaby. After playing a good bit through the new game, I've been tempted to return to the original, which had built-in seated VR support which could be played with gamepad or mouse and keyboard. Alibon Lullaby is still a visual masterpiece and quite a treat to experience in a VR headset even 8 years later!

31:39 Conclusion
Let's go back into Alice's Lullaby in Virtual Reality with UEVR Injector because we finally resolved the broken title screen issue and the cutscenes will now let the camera fly around properly, while you keep your ability to look and physically move around. The room scale motion controller adaptation is now almost fully tested and not one major issue has been encountered so far, not to mention in this session no issues were encountered at all. The game simply dragged us into is insane, electric horror environments with these terrifying characters that helped create one of the best VR games that doesn't officially support VR. Shoutout to CJ117 on the Flat2VR Discord for the help with adding Lua scripts to UEVR Injector profiles!

While we're still stuck having to gather more invetory for this series to reembark on the main storyline, we take an ambitious step today in order to show off the 4K video quality and we head off to four different locations to "borrow" fusion cores for the power armor to last until the end of our series. In the process we encounter some of the toughest adversity yet, being pelted with mini nukes, missiles and other high power defenses!

Today for the first time we take a look at Playstation VR 2 and we do it on the PC by playing Half Life Alyx through SteamVR. While the setup was very easy and the headset worked quite well, it looks like Sony really messed up every basic well known aspect of VR with this kit and the only determination I can make is to warn you NOT TO BUY this piece of garbage as it is dreadfully the worst VR headset I have ever tried relative to its generation. Half Life Alyx played very well in this kit, and the session went uninterrupted and without breaking issues, but the headset's optics and displays proved to be way to horrible to enjoy any of it.

This will improve gameplay, combat and ultimately also performance.

Finally after a very long time running mods and retrofits we jump back into yet another "made for VR" game, this time playing the promising Metro: Awakening VR that somehow was welcomed by very tepid reviews. We give the game a shot, get rid of its blurry resolution and crub its flashbang lens flares issue caused by the game's graphics-mutilating TAA, and once the image matches today's VR standards we embark on a fairly large sample of gameplay ranging from valve puzzles, to climbing, exploring and finally some gun action to complete the mix.

Well, now Alice's Lullaby is here and while it does not have official VR support, it runs great with UEVR Injector, in nearly the same way as the original game did out of the box. This is a very simple setup from UEVR Installation to configuration and game settings for graphics and performance, the game runs very well and should even forgive on mid spec systems. Let's get back into this electrifying, colorful, surprising and sometimes scary little gem that is the Albino Lullaby series!

We're also going to show you how to do this if you wish to try, and of course we resume our wonderful playthrough stopping to do some performance analyses along the way.

Now that we know Borderlands 3 VR very well thanks to UEVR injector's near perfect VR retrofit, we now look at the last missing pieces of our configuration by trying out Moze, whose special skill happens to be a big mech. We're going to head into our Quest 3 and fire up Borderlands 3 VR and see if that mechanic works well enough to be played thnrough and through. Additionally we try out a very aggressive configuration with Oculus Airlink, in the hopes to get closer to Virtaul Desktop's visual fidelity.

We haven't seen those yet and we are going to find out how they control and if they are comfortable. Let's take the Quest 3 once more and load into Virtual Desktop on High at 90Hz with the HEVC 10-bit codec on its 200Mbps maximum setting!

RE Framework (RE7 PC VR Mod) Releases Page
github.com/praydog/REFramework/releases
How to install the mod:
1) Open the properties for Resident Evil 7 in Steam
2) Go to the BETAS tab
3) Select the dx11_non-rt item from the drop-down
4) Close the properties. Your game may update.
5) Download REFramework from the above link: You want the file RE7_TDB49.zip (Do not use RE7.zip, it is meant for the DX12 version of the game which won't work as well with this mod)
6) Extract the contents of RE7_TDB49.zip and copy them into the root of the RE7 folder
(Typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard)
7) Start your VR runtimes (Oculus or SteamVR) and then launch RE7. It will hook to your VR headset shortly after starting.

38:26 Conclusion
Now that we're picking up the pace with Virtual Desktop, we try the H264+ codec on Fallout 4 VR, try to adjust the bitrate, and set the quality down from Ultra to High in order to make some room for a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz while maintaining a true, full 120 frames per second without using any spacewarp or reprojection whatsoever. With the Quest 3 getting supersampled frames at this maxed out refresh rate we should be going for some smooth sailing as we get back on course after having been sidetracked quite a few times.

40:03 Conclusion
After having tried Borderlands 3 in VR using UEVR Injector it's time to return to Borderlands 2 VR, a native VR implementation, and compare how the game looks visually next to its successor. We're jacking up the resolution on the Meta Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop Ultra quality and we're going to run it at 120 Hz throught the H264+ codec at 250 Mbits per second. While this game is old and gave us controller issues when going through SteamVR, and had a performance issue where you had to minimize the game (?!) to get good performance, the best method appears to be to run through Oculus runtimes or use Virtual Desktop's Oculus emulation.

Now that we've been introduced to UEVR Injector by Praydog it's time to try something new: We're going to play Stray in VR using only UEVR and nothing else: no profile, just a couple of settings to change and voila! It turns out that this game looks basolutely amazing in PC VR especially with this Quest 3 headset over Virtual Desktop at resolutions way higher than what we used to do with the Valve Index.

The UEVR injector has been around for long enough, and I finally have a major reason to get to it: We're going to enable near perfect virtual reality support in Borderlands 3, a game made by yet another publisher that snubbed the VR market upon releasing their new title. Thanks to the great community of VR modders we don't have to worry about that since we now have a free injector that transforms Borderlands 3 and many other titles into VR games! Let's equip the Quest 3, launch Meta Quest Link and give this a short through Oculus Airlink!
