My pop filter was positioned such that the plastic outer ring lined up with the mute button on the mic. While using the Scout controls, I touched the pop filter in a way that it pressed the mute button. Really, really fricking unlucky! Of course, I wasn't able to see the blinking mute button until I took the Rift off at the end of the session.That's not what we want, but it's okay! That's why I've had OBS setup to record audio from the microphone on the Oculus Rift headset, just in case. I've never used it in this series, but for this situation I was able to use this audio track and keep the commentary going.B) The audio goes back to the Yeti for a few seconds at 43:56, since I accidentally hit the mute button again while using the Scout controls, bringing back recording from the superior microphone. It would have been great to have accidentally activated the Yeti again, but sadly I hit the pop filter AGAIN, muting it again. Back to audio from the Rift microphone...C) Using the audio recorded from the Oculus Rift microphone should have been a failsafe, since it's always on, even when I'm not using the HMD. But failure is my curse in this life.For unknown reasons, the capture of the Rift microphone ends at 53:04. I cannot think of any reasons this might have happened. I hadn't looked at the Rift mic audio tracks for previous parts since I didn't need them. I've since checked them all, and for four of them, at some point the audio stopped recording and never returned for the rest of the video.Since the backup microphone failed, there is nothing I could do. My commentary was simply not recorded despite having two microphones active during the production. That playthrough was abandoned and I started a new one in August 2020. I played about 30 hours over a month, but got distracted again. In mid-March 2022, I decided I would not die without completing Hollow Knight. I decided to record my attempt at opening the Black Egg, which I presumed was the end of the game. It was.I've played about five hours more already. I never consulted any guides or outside info, but immediately after ending this recording, I decided to continue playing and look up where the things I missed were located.Earlier today I did the White Palace. Absolutely infuriating platforming at "Super Meat Boy" levels of difficulty. I persevered (without destroying my controller) and was able to reach the Pale King. The game has more content, but I may leave Hollow Knight there. I have other stuff to play, and very limited time to do it. I've just returned to my Final Fantasy VI playthrough that I began in September 2019.Anyways, Hollow Knight is my favorite 2D platform video game of all time. It just so happens that I played the original version of FF12 on a PS2 emulator for the final Final Fantasy Fridays. It makes sense to record my current playthrough for a couple of hours, just to acknowledge the anniversary of me giving up on creating videos for the purpose of gaining an audience on YouTube.August 31, 2021 is also the eight-month anniversary of my giving up on The Solo Live Stream™ (©Eincrou 1988). That is the longest period of time I've gone without firing up OBS since I started live streaming, which I believe was in 2014.It really is amazing how little success I had at anything in this life. Even at this late stage, I know I did the best I could with what I had. It wasn't even close to good enough, but I have no regrets about any of the decisions I made about things that were within my control. Better luck next time. (I hope I get another chance to live a human life, but it seems unlikely)

The regular first-person perspective isn't as nice, with all the head movement causing unending shaking in the footage.
