Let's understand why in 2019 TV cameras are still so massive and expensive ! I rented a complete TV setup to have a week-end of experimentation messing around with the beast. Part of the equipment was not available at the rental house so Blackmagic nicely agreed to lend me the camera, fiber module, monitor and a camera control panel for a few days.
Special thanks to Claire (Broadcast Camera Op), Marin (Camera Assistant), Matthieu (Paraglider) and Mathieu (Actor) for helping me out with strong commitment throughout this project.

April 2020 Update : Sadly, production turns out to be very hard at scale. We can make 20 units ourselves easily but for more than 100 units the complexity of the assembly forces us to either put a high price tag (300-400$) , either make a much bigger remote. And it's hard to get guarantees that the 1000 or 10 000 units will work just as well as the 20 first units. So for the moment, I prefer to put the project on hold rather than risking selling an average product ...
Just felt like something was missing to my BMPCC & URSA Cameras so with some friends we built Litty, a tiny Bluetooth remote for Blackmagic cameras. You can use it to control focus, aperture, rec start / stop and more remotely. Let me know your thoughts in the comments ! I use it for myself right know but depending on the demand we could build more units with a manufacturing partner.
I would like to thank Christophe & the whole Blackmagic Design team for offering their support with the OEM program, which means we can get a few discounts on Blackmagic gear and fast support to help us bring this project to life !
Compatible with Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K / 6K , Ursa Mini Pro G1 & G2.

I have zero issues and they are easy to use so I feel that the team behind is very smart and user focused.
Of course the only issue is the price, it's definitely not cheap ! At least for me, it was a pretty big budget, but I do a lot of offline multicam work so it was really worth it. Hope that at some point they have enough volume to offer lower prices ! If you don't have the budget and don't want to sync everything by hand neither I recommend you sync using sound with Plural Eyes. Anyways, hope you like the video !
Of course there many more ways to sync and edit multicam. I didn't talk about FinalCut / Avid since I don't use them. I've heard positive things about Avid and multicam editing.

Here's my feedback on Resolve 16 Beta, which I truly think is a big deal for editing and post-production. Also talking about a few of its limitations after switching from Premiere which has been my go to editor for 10+ years. Please correct me if some things are unclear or if I'm wrong :) Hope you like it !
Generally speaking, Resolve seems to be running flawlessly on Macs. On Windows it works very good on my side, but consider going for a good GPU (such as Geforce 1080Ti which is 7-8 times faster than the Geforce 1050Ti). In both cases, Mac & PC : performance is night and day when compared to Premiere !!
This video is not sponsored by Blackmagic.
The video was shot with an URSA Mini Pro and a Sigma 50mm ART lens. B-Roll mostly with the BMPCC 4K. It was edited, sound mixed, color graded and rendered on Da Vinci Resolve and the VFX parts on After Effects because I'm too new to Fusion. However, the intro sequence had 500 layers, it would have been MUCH SMARTER to do it inside Fusion, which is not based and not layer based.
Awesome channels that I like to learn color grading :

[4K]Zebra Zone2019-03-07 | Learn how to compose your own Black Mirror style soundtrack on NI Massive & Cubase with very little musical skills. It is more like an "ambiance approach", trying to recreate that of Black Mirror Episode S03E04 "San Junipero" as a starting point so that you feel inspired to further experiment stuff and create your own original piece of music. Playing synth live on a beach was a very fun adventure. Some brands are named but this video is totally unsponsored. Thank you very much for your support !
The aim was to help you get started with simple words, and I'm a filmmaker, not a real musician, so the production quality is way inferior to that of the original track Waves Crashing on Distant Shores by Clint Mansell, I think it's a wonderful score, go check it out.
Music : - M-Audio Keystation 88 keys (bought used, but any USB controller will be fine) - Dell XPS15 9570 - NI Massive (free 30 days trial available !) - Cubase (free trial as well)
Video - For the cinematic shots + top view : - Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (This BMPCC4K has AMAZING Low light capabilities) - Olympus 25mm F1.8 Zuiko - Lumix G 42.5mm F1.7
Rest of the camerawork : - Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K - Sigma 18-35mm - Aputure COB120D & COB300D - Zoom H6 for sound & ambiance

Many thanks to my friends Claire and Mathieu for their time and help for this video to whom goes the credit for the performance in the comparison shots.
The video was shot with an URSA Mini Pro and a Sigma 18-35mm ART lens, the comparison footage was shot with the same lens and a Blackmagic Pocket 4K Camera (BMPCC 4K). But you can also use a speed booster with the GH5 , GH5S or other micro four thirds based cameras.

[4K]Zebra Zone2018-11-06 | Just wanted to share with you a field test I did comparing the Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro with the new Pocket 4K (BMPCC 4K) . As a long time Ursa Mini Pro owner I was very eager to see how both cameras stack up. If you have a different opinion and a different experience with the two cameras, share in the comments.
I wanted to compare both cameras without any ND Filters so this is why the shutter speed is quite high. Also, I didn't have time to compare the motion aspects (jello, etc..) , I'd be very pleased to hear your feedback if you've managed to compare that yourself.
