After the bowls are cored initially, he turns the bowl blank so the wall thickness is even and adds a tenon that can be used later for chucking up the bowl blank

He unboxes this very interesting tool and shows the components available. The Tru Arc produces a perfect curve on the inside of a bowl. This is definitely not a roughing tool, but one designed with the result of a perfectly curved surface and one that is very difficult to produce by using hand tools.

Sam was commissioned to turn this 30 inch large walnut piece. It challenged the limits of his sweet 16 but the lathe handled it beautifully.
