Our Mexico Return Goes Wrong 😳 Scams & Broken Truck Chris and Sara 2024-09-07 | We're back to our overlanding travel adventure driving the Pan American Highway in our 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser! We left our truck in Mexico in May and we just returned to find it great shape in some ways, but with a few major things broken, too. It's been stressful, exhausting, and we've felt like quitting at times, but we absolutely love the adventure we're on and the good continues to outweigh the bad so we're going to keep going. LA PAZ, MEXICO | Our New Favorite Mexican Town! Chris and Sara 2024-04-13 | Welcome to La Paz in Mexico's state of Baja California Sur! Today we're exploring this amazing Mexican city and the surrounding areas to see why some of our friends told us, "YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE LA PAZ!" Spoiler: they were right! From the world famous Playa Balandra (Balandra Beach) to delicious chilaquiles and the most beautiful sunset we've witnessed in Baja, we fell in love with La Paz. Driving to Mexico (subtitulos en español) Chris and Sara 2024-03-23 | Today we're crossing our first international border while driving the Pan American Highway as we cross in our truck camper from the USA to Mexicali, Mexico. Heading into our first border crossing we were a bit nervous because people tend to hype up the stress that comes with the process, but truthfully, our experience was really positive. The people were friendly (like they almost always are in Mexico!), it went quickly, and we made it through without any hiccups! 3 Days in an Indigenous Guatemalan Village Chris and Sara 2023-08-13 | Guatemala is home to beautiful mountains, volcanos, lakes, and friendly people. Many of these people are Mayan and live far up in the mountains way beyond where most tourists ever venture. In these villages of indigenous people are some of the kindest people who welcomed us in to tell their stories over the course of three days. We were in Guatemala working with a nonprofit @sownforgood to tell the story of another nonprofit's work. In these villages Spanish isn't the common language, but rather a variety of indigenous languages making communication beyond their community difficult. Quetzal Project (the nonprofit whose work we were filming) teaches children Spanish to enable them to continue in the public education system thus having the freedom and ability to further themselves in whatever ways they desire. Buying Our 1988 Land Cruiser Camper (mini tour, getting the keys, and learning to drive) Chris and Sara 2023-07-09 | #overlanding #landcruiser #travelLast week we let you in on our big secret: we bought a new truck camper! (FINALLY!!) This little truck has been a long time coming and finding what we were looking for was a very long process. After over year, we finally landed on this 1988 BJ75 Toyota Land Cruiser with a BiMobil Husky camper on the back. To say we already love it would be an understatement! Today's video is all about the learning process: driving, mechanics, and maintenance. When you're trusting a 35 year old truck to get you around the world, you need to know how to care for it. It's also a stick-shift so we continue learning to drive it through the backroads of Washington. It's not what we originally planned to be driving the world with, but we think it's even better. This truck is not something we could have ever dreamed up since these trucks are so hard to find, especially in America.
