From Prairie Yard & Garden Season 35. Episode 12.Being There – Supporting Producers in Hard Timesmnagriculture2023-06-21 | It’s a hard time to be a livestock farmer right now. Some hog producers report they’re losing more than $30-50 per pig. Milk prices have dropped nearly $10/cwt in the past year, and the current outlook is poor. At the same time, some dairy farmers are losing their market (and thus the ability to ship the milk they produce), others are being asked to dump milk due to oversupply. Producers are facing difficult decisions about their future and may be feeling angry, sad, confused, or scared.
If Minnesota livestock farmers are your customers, clients, or community members, this webinar is for you. While you can’t solve their problems, you can help them make the best decisions in the present moment and guide them to other sources of help they may need.
