On a recent “animal picture-taking “ trip to the Kenyalands, I had the extraordinary experience of visiting with Long’uro and his family at the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Samburu County. I KNOW that Pluto had a paw in orchestrating this fortuitous meeting and she would be the first in line to cheer on Long’uro as he navigates his “new normals” and lives his best life! For the first time flying home from Kenya, the sky was clear over Greenland…See description for more Pluto Living 2022-10-08 | Yesterday, after 15 hours of flying, and for the first time ever on my way home from Kenya, the clouds completely cleared over Greenland, so near the top of the earth. It is hard to put into words how emotional it was to be so far up, between “here” and “there,” looking at this spectacular beauty outside my tiny window. I had my music on and my “shuffled” playlist choose Rise Up, a song I discovered and played often during my last year with Pluto. I cried and little, and then I had to chuckle that she orchestrated this little music video for me as I traveled close by. What a special experience to witness the magnificence of our “earth planet”spread out as far as my eye could see-I thought you might enjoy it. Thanks for the show little buddy. I thought this was an appropriate "repeater." ❤️👑🏰Thursday September 8th, 2022Like so many others across the Wordlands, I am deeply saddened today over the passing of Queen Elizabeth ll. To our Plutoverse friends in the United Kingdomlands, amd across the Commonweath, I am very sorry for your loss. It certainly feels like the end of an era. To have lived so long a life, spent entirely in devoted to the service of others, is truly extraordinary. I am listening to the many stories people are sharing today about their personal connection with the Queen and there are so many commonalities-her graciousness and generosity, her curiosity and vast knowledge, as well as her keen sense of humour. In our home we are so delighted to have the wonderful memory of Pluto receiving her very special letter from "the lady who was waiting with the Queen” in Windsor Castle, which she proudly displayed in her snore house.Queen Elizabeth was a great lover of dogs and I have no doubt when she arrived in heaven she was enthusiastically greeted by all the 4-leggeds waiting right behind her Royal corgis. A Day in Plutos Life Pluto Living 2022-08-31 | I am learning that grief does not travel in a straight line. This repeater video popped-up in my Facebook vortex yesterday and jump-started my heart. I confess, I hit replay a few times and laughed at her baby goat impersonation. This time, the laugh wasn’t followed by tears. #Laughing was good. 😊 Thank you for all the messages, comments and emails of encouragement and support you have continued to share. And for holding #Pluto in your hearts. 🙏🏻❤️ So many of you have asked if we will get another pup? We aren’t quite there yet, but we certainly do talk about it-often. My heart needs more time time to heal before making that decision. So, one day at a time. My career was also partially on hold these past few years. But I am looking forward to working in Kenya several times over the coming months, without the stress and worry I felt when I last left home. Let me explain…back in the summer of 2020 I was contacted by Iron Chef Bobby Flay’s production company. Chef Bobby (Beat Bobby Flay) was looking for a writer for a project he was considering doing–with his #CAT. Nacho.😹 So, after preliminary vetting by his people, Bobby Flay called me directly to talk about my background and how the “Plutoverse” came about. Unbeknownst to me, Pluto decided to insert herself in the “interview process” and sent Bobby these thoughts on the whole “hiring my Mom” idea. In the end, she must have prevailed as there was no job offer for me. 😂 But, what an absolute hoot it was getting a call from Chef #BobbyFlay and talking about cats, dogs, crazy times and how weirdness wins. Well, well, well…May 16th is the full Flower Moon AND a Blood Moon lunar eclipse! It would seem there could be no better occasion for a special celebration to honour Pluto’s life on the earth planet. All her Plutoverse friends are invited to remember her on this special day and collectively GET YOUR HOWLS ON all across the Worldlands! No matter where you are, between May 15th, 18:00 (6 PM ) ET and May 16th, 6:00 (6AM) ET, take a moment to look up at the moon and get your howls on! Even if you can’t see that moon because it's sunny in your land, or maybe there is cloud or rain, you still know it’s up there! Letter for the Snore-house Castle Pluto Living 2022-05-05 | Hi friends,This story begins back in late fall of 2021 when our Plutoverse friend Carol Altman in the Downunderlands wrote to the Queen to tell her about Pluto! Well, Carol received a response from Windsor Castle and she was kind enough to send it to us as a keepsake. I took the letter to my framer and we choose something appropriate in which to show off this very special correspondence. Luckily, the piece was finished the week before Pluto left us and I was able to proudly hang it in her snore castle for her. Thank You For Your Love Pluto Living 2022-05-01 | FriendsWe are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for Pluto. Our hearts are broken, but we feel so much love from you all. Pluto let us know that it was just getting too difficult to navigate her life and it was the hardest decision I have ever had to make to let her run free. I hope it gives you some peace in your hearts to know her last days were the very best they could be. We never left her side. Thankfully, the sun was shining through it all, which allowed her to enjoy some sunny snores. She also had a warm bath, some gentle early morning strolls around the hood, ate strawberry ice cream for breakfast, completed lots of perimeter checks out in the sunshine, and, of course, endless cuddles. When it was time, she left this world lying on my chest with her head over my heart. Pluto was my north star. She was my best friend, office companion, confidant, and teacher. And I know many of you are aware, she was my inspiring muse! Pluto was my home. I hope the angels know how lucky they are to have her join them. ❤️ We are deeply touched that so many of you have sent messages asking if there was a favourite organization to donate to in Pluto’s honour. I Love You Pluto Living 2022-04-30 | Dear, dear friendsMy heart is shattered and these words I need to share are not coming easily. This morning we said goodbye to Pluto and sent her on her next adventure. Despite her courage and determination at embracing her new normals, life just became too difficult for her. I wasn’t ready at all, but I truly believe she was. She tried to tell me in so many ways these past days. I thought we had more time together. We had more shenanigans planned. But, I know in my heart that my desire to keep her with me would have meant more suffering for her. She left this world with her head on my heart. She’s is at peace now.
