Fallout 4, and the wider Fallout Universe, still leaves a lot of mysteries and secrets. One of these takes the form of a question: Why do Ghouls go Feral?
Feral Ghouls:
One of the msot savage creatures we encounter in Fallout 4, and the wider Fallout universe. However, many, indeed most of them, didn't start out this way. Their skin may bear the marks of radiation, and many of them are ancient, but we encounter many Ghouls who are perfectly sane. Why then, do some of them go feral? What acts and the catalyst to this process? Why do some ghouls, like Zao and Oswald, last for so long? Is it because of Ferocious Post-Necrotic Dystrophy, as Barrows in Fallout 3 hypothesizes? Or is it down to genes, like Billy Peabody's parents seem to think. The exact process may also be a contributing factor, as ghouls like Eddie Winters and Desmond Lockheart intentionally underwent the process of ghoulification, and after centuries they still seem fine. We will explore these and other questions in this episode.

However, apart from just being a tasty beverage, there is a dark story of what went on at the Vim Pop Factory where it was made. A story involving, shockingly, Nuka Cola. A story that involves sabotage and betrayal. Running concurrently to this story is that of the Captains Blend, the drink Vim was hoping would deliver it from the dire fincial straits it was in. This drink, like Quantum, had a strange ingredient, and a strange effect on those who drank it. John Caleb Bradberton is the creator of both Nuka Cola and the CEO of the Nuka Cola Corporation. The man behind Nuka World. However despite this, little is known about him. We find mention of him only in passing, even in the deepest parts of the park. However, a quest we are given at the very beginning of the DLC helps us discover more. The quest is Cappy In a Haystack, and is given to us by Sierra Petrovita, a Nuka Cola enthusiast from the capital wasteland in Fallout 3. After collecting all the hidden cappys, we can enter Bradbertons office, and from here, piece together the real purpose of Project Cobalt and LEAP-X, and what happened to John Caleb Bradberton.

On the island of Far Harbour, beneath the Cliff's Edge Hotel, we can find a vault. But this Vault is very different than many of the others we have looked at. This Vault, Vault 118, is different in that the residents took control of the experiment, usurping Vault-Tec and taking the Vault for themselves. This all began when they, Ezra, Gilda, Keith, Julianna and Bert, made the choice to become robobrains. But if they took over Vault 118, what effect did this have on the experiment, and what was the original experiment for Vault 118. Today, we shall take a look at all of this.

With the addition of Fallout 4 to the franchise, a lot of things were added or removed from the in game canon and lore. Power cores, no training for power armor, the T-60 power armor appearing out of nowhere, and the X-01. Cats were reintroduced to the wastes, despite a decent amount of evidence that they had gone extinct, and Jet has been added as a pre-war drug, instead of a post war creation by Myron. Today, we shall take a look at all of these and decide whether or not they are retcons.
Few games in the Fallout franchise can match the level of depth that Fallout New Vegas brought to its characters, and few of them can match the character of Robert Edwin House. The founder of RobCo, he was a genius and a visionary. He protected New Vegas when the bombs fell, and helped rebuild it into the jewel of the Mojave after. But why did he set out to do all of this? What drove him, and what were his end goals? Why build the Platinum Chip, and why did he need it back to badly? Was the the right choice to side with in the end? What secrets does his past hold, and what is the truth behind the man?

However, one group that really sticks out is the Psijic Order, the mysterious group that get involved with us at the College Of Winterhold. One of, if not the most, ancient order of magic practitioners in all of Nirn. An order formed sometime in the First Era, they have been witness to some of the most important events in the Elder Scrolls. It was founded by a group of Aldmer. A group that wanted to continue the practice of ancestor worship cast aside by the rest of their race. A practice that grew into the Old Way, or Elder Way. A philosophy that grew into a school of magic called Mysticism, a school that allowed them to alter and warp the very fabric of the universe, sometimes to disastrous results. An order involved in the counselling of kings and the practice of war. Of affecting change in the world where its needed, and stemming it where its not. An order that we are, today, going to look at.

Spriggans:
A rare enough type of creature, is the Spriggan. Found in 4 different forms. Spriggan, Spriggan Matron, Spriggan Earth Mother and the Burnt Spriggans. On the whole, they are hollow wooden statues that are manipulated and controlled by swarms of leaf like bees, emitting a different colour of light depending on the type of Spriggan.
