August Planner Flipthrough Sterling Ink 2024-08-27 | So long August.2024 is going by so fast and it is always so satisfying to see my planner take its own form.
5 Year Diary Stamps Sterling Ink 2024-08-27 | The updated 5 year diary stamps will be available both as individual sets and also with the 5 year diary purchase starting in October (exact launch date will be announced later)..This year we are releasing our new stamp sets that go from 2029 - 2033 for you to use in your 5 year diaries. The previous 2024-2048 stamps will also be included with the 5 year diaries so you will be getting a full 10 years worth of date stamps..I created this 5 year diary with flexibility in mind. For me, no year is the same and no day is the same, so it's very important that the paper products we carry can allow this constant evolving rhythm of life. There are gentle guide lines dividing the page into 5 sections but you can easily create your own layout and use these date stamps to determine your own layout..A quick tip: you can use markers to brush over the stamp instead of using stamp pad. This means you can use what you already have and can choose from a variety of colors without investing in stamp pads.
Why I Use 2 Planners Sterling Ink 2024-08-25 | This is my secret to staying productive:.After trying countless systems and feeling overwhelmed, I finally found a planning system that works for me. I use one planner for organizing to-dos and daily journaling while the other for time tracking and brain and info dumping..I find that having a separate daily planner helps me to park the information to be sorted later. It gives me a blank space per day to be messy and free. When I time track, I use color-coded markers to help categorize activities, so I can keep my main archive planner neat while the second catches my life's messy details that can be sorted later..You can of course do it all in one common planner, that's what the blank pages are for. But I just wanted to add something where I wouldn't feel self conscious about creating a mess, think of it as a temporary junk drawer..I love using color-coding (shout out to my favorites: Mildliners, and Tombow brush markers!) to categorize different aspects of my life - from outdoor time to homeschool lessons. This system lets me keep my main planner neat while capturing all the messy, beautiful details of daily life..By tracking my activities throughout the day, I gain insight into where my time goes and keep myself accountable. How We Combined A Planner and Journal Sterling Ink 2024-08-24 | As a life long planner and journaler, I always struggled with whether I want to have a planner or have a blank notebook for everything. I finally decided to make my own one to join the two..One of the reasons why I created the Common Planner is to have a planner and notebook all in one place. It has the functional uses of a planner - goal trackers, monthly calendars, and weekly spreads while also including a numbered notebook with grid pages in the back..Now I can plan my day, write down my thoughts, and sketch out ideas in one planner. No more juggling multiple books trying to figure out which planner or journal I wrote what in or feeling indecisive about my planning system..It's like my brain...but more organized. And trust me, if it works for my chaos, it can work for you too.
Making of October Sterling Ink 2024-08-22 | October is one of my favorite months of the year because I know fall has officially arrived! I love the look of the leaves changing colors and the inspiration it give me for the months collection..I wanted to show how I start working on a new collection with just paper and pen. I begin by sketching out the ideas that I have and eventually they come together to tell a story through the illustrations. Homeschooling With An Academic Planner Sterling Ink 2024-08-03 | I finally got some time this weekend to plan out the 2024-2025 school year for Stirling. He will be starting his Kindergarten year. We will be mix and matching different curriculums this year after doing a trial run last year..I started from the back pages to write out my IDEAL DREAM goals for the year (and it's ok if we don't hit those goals), reasons why we home school, ways I want to record his progress, different prepping routines for his lessons, notes from a few curriculums we are looking at and how I want to use them..I find that when I don't know where to start in a brand new planner, I always go to the back notes section and just start writing and this gives me a more clear idea as to how I want to use the planner as a tool to bring my visions to life..I am using the weekly sections to map out the different reading sections for the week for different subjects. This is a combo of various different curriculum so it's helpful to have everything in one place. I will be highlighting the items we have completed so later I can see exactly which ones we have done..I will also be adding additional notes and project pictures on the weekly section to capture what we have done that week..I will be adding page numbers on the weekly section for any additional pre-reading notes I have written down in the back sections.

How I stay sane… most of the time Sterling Ink 2024-07-16 | How I stay sane… most of the time. .It’s my little external brain. I don’t try to capture everything and make it a second brain because that would take too much time. Instead I let it store things for me as needed. When I know I want to continue a thread of thought I put it here, this way I can easily find the information and continue my thought process. I also use it to write things that I want to tell myself when I get overwhelmed, which is all the time. I write my goals and dreams in here, I write my project ideas, I write my wish list in life in here. .Just this past weekend, I found a few inserts that I replaced from 5 years ago in 2019, and it made me so emotional because it had my old goals spread (broken up exactly like how we structured it in our common planner from some day goal all the way down to daily goal).I had set up 3 sections, personal, career and family. 5 years later today, I hit both the Career and Family goals but didn’t hit the personal goal yet (which I am working on and making good progress so far) .To mark this special occasion, now I made a new section in my “brain” binder, the KEEPSAKE section to store these old goal inserts. So I can remind myself the following. .Dreams do come true if you desire it strongly. So write what it is you want down on paper, make a plan to that goal post, then work consistently on it everyday. It’s ok if you skip a day or two, but just keep coming back to it Rain Hail or Shine.

I also find that journaling with only positive thoughts helps me to work through my emotions before they arrive on paper, and I am always able to find the positivity in the situations and gratitude. .When I was little, I really did not like journaling because it was part of our homework to submit our journal every day. It felt like a chore, and I felt like I had to write the “correct thing”. But in reality, journaling can be anything. The grammar doesn’t have to be perfect, the sentences do not have to be finished. It is just a tool for me to get my thoughts out and look at them and organize. My journals never tire of listening to me, helping me through my problems. My journal is like Doraemon’s 4D Pocket, and can pull out endless things out of my head that I didn’t even know were there 😊.
