~ The story behind the album cover ⏬

"There happened in the borough of Cloera, one Sunday, while the people were at Mass, a marvel. In this town is a church dedicated to St. Kinarus. It befell that an anchor was dropped from the sky, with a rope attached to it, and one of the flukes caught in the arch above the church door. The people rushed out of the church and saw in the sky a ship with men on board, floating before the anchor cable, and they saw a man leap overboard and jump down to the anchor, as if to release it. He looked as if he were swimming in water. The folk rushed up and tried to seize him; but the Bishop forbade the people to hold the man, for it might kill him, he said. The man was freed, and hurried up to the ship, where the crew cut the rope and the ship sailed out of sight. But the anchor is in the church, and has been there ever since, as a testimony.''

Two worlds that collide in this story, same as with our music where we connected two of our worlds. Folk music and cinematic music.

Even though this instrument called 'irish' I think this particular instrument has nothing to do with Ireland at all :) ..but it doesnt matter.. I always wanted to play the harp and this little thing was all I could afford at that time..

Folk Tagelharpa (original composition)

Jirka Hájek 2019-12-29 | I tried to make a cheerful sounding tagelharpa song, following the example of traditional Swedish and Finnish folk songs, which were mainly used for dance and celebrations (I believe).
Let this short song be a proof that this beautiful scandinavian musical instrument was not created only for a dark, slow and scratchy sounds which you can hear in most neo-viking songs nowadays :)

Myrkur - Två Konungabarn | guitar cover | Yamaha TransAcoustic

Jirka Hájek 2019-04-22 | Två Konungabarn on an acoustic guitar!
My interpretation of this beautiful scandinavian folk song that became well-known thanks to the great Danish artist - Myrkur (she plays it on a traditional Swedish musical instrument - Nyckelharpa).

I play it on Yamaha LS TA TransAcoustic guitar and I use experimental tuning EAEAEA :)).

Interesting about this guitar is that it already has a reverb and chorus effect inside (so you dont need to connect it to some amplifier or FX unit). So in the video I didnt add anything to the original sound that I recorded with Zoom pocket recorder. Reverb comes directly from the guitar. :)

But sadly... I had some issues during recording that I figured out when it was too late, so I had to turn down high frequences little bit in the final mix.

Psal se konec července 2018...
Neúprosná vedra zužovala celou naši zemi.
Nicméně se jeden urostlý jinoch rozhodl navštívit drobnějšího jinocha (neplést s Asterixem a Obelixem).
Nezastavila ho ani situace na českých dálnicích, ani přes 30°C ve stínu!
Marvel tvrdí, že nejambicióznější crossover v historii je Infinity War.
Není tomu tak, střetnutí Jiřího Hájka a Matěje Štrosse přepisuje kult crossoveru.
I vzniklo tak společné dílko v podobě společného coveru na skladbu Pidgeon našich Lordů a Saviorů.
O kytarovou stránku, natočení a následné vizuální zpracování celého videa, včetně střihu, se postaral Jirka, o baskytaru a drobnější rady ohledně vizuálu se postaral Matěj.
Spolu s tímto coverem budeme mít také každý na svém profilu samostatný cover pouze s kytarou (Jirka) a pouze s baskytarou (Matěj). Tak tedy enjoy! :)

About ILMATAR - I tried to make a song without any guitar, piano, drums or some computer plugins. Just by using a variety of awkward, archaic and time-forgotten ethnic instruments, which are no longer popular. That was the goal. And for me, who grew up on the sound of electric guitars and synths, it was a challenge :) How did it end up, see for yourself. :)

Used instruments: jouhikko (bowed lyre / tagelharpa), hurdy gurdy (niněra), irish lyre harp, irish bouzouki, low whistle, tin whistle, tibetan singing bowl, peruvian maracas, kalimba, jews harp (brumle).

...and Ilmatar was a virgin spirit of the air in the Finnish national epic Kalevala :)

Atlantis - The Lost Tales - Back to Atlantis (cover)

Jirka Hájek 2010-04-14 | My cover of the song Back to Atlantis from the game Atlantis - The Lost Tales by Pierre Esteve.
I think the original song is played on mandolin or cymbal and because I haven't any of these instruments I play it on my midi keyboard and I use VST sound plugins in cubase. I used EWQL Colossus and RA (instruments - dulcimer, mandolin and strings). I think the sound is quite close to the original :)

CZ- Můj další cover, tentokrát ze série hudebních cover verzí z prvního dílu hry Atlantis - the lost tales od Pierra Esteve. Originalni pisen je tuším hraná na mandolínu nebo na cimbal, ale jelikož žádný takový nástroj nevlastním zkusil jsem to nahrát přes klávesy a zvukové pluginy v Cubase - EWQL Colossus a RA a myslím, že je to originálu docela podobné ;)

This song is from the part in "the Land of Polar Bear" - Spitzbergs.
The original song is played on zittera or something like this, but I don't have this instrument, so I played it on my electroacoustic guitar. Vocals, strings, chimes and sound effects are played on midi keyboard with ewql plugin Colossus.

CZ - Můj nový cover písně La Lune od skladatele Pierra Esteve ze hry Atlantis - The Lost Tales.
Píseň je z části v zemi polárního medvěda - Špicberky.
Originální píseň je hraná na nějaký strunný nástroj, zřejmě něco jako citera, ale protože nic podobného nevlastním, nahrál jsem to na svoji elektroakustickou kytaru. Hlasy, smyčce a dalsi efekty jsou nahrané na keyboard přes Midi plugin EWQL Colossus.

STAR WARS - The Throne Room (guitar cover)

Jirka Hájek 2010-03-22 | So, today I recorded my favourite Star Wars ending (from Episode IV.) - The Throne Room song and I tried to play it with my electric guitar ;)

I play it by ear so it's not perfect (as usual) and sometimes the video is slower than sound.
