This video shows how to design and build a compact modified sine wave inverter that has all the necessary safety features to ensure stable and long operation. Because the inverter is software controlled, many other functions and voltage inputs can be enabled. One unique thing about this inverter is that it contains a tap changer, which makes it possible to switch taps to suit different input and output voltages, such as an inverter with a selectable output voltage of 110 or 220V.
WARNING: This design uses high DC and DC voltages, and it could be fatal if mishandled. DO NOT ATTEMPT this design if you lack the knowledge of how to work around high voltages safely! You are responsible for your own safety.
This video is partially born out of my frustration with the lack of good tutorials on how to properly make an inverter, as most tutorials online are using 555 ICs, these designs barely work, and they are very dangerous to use. My goal is to make an inverter that is viable to be used as an actual long-term solution. However, I am not a professional electrical engineer, so I cannot guarantee absolute safety or stability. From the numerous safety and testing so far, it is very stable.

A 180 degrees hinge on the flashlight makes shining the light anywhere while maintaining a comfortable angle on the phone. The flashlights last 12 hours on low power, 1 hour on high power. At 10% power, it is already 4-5 times brighter than the flashlight on the phone. At full power, it is 55-60times stronger.

Notes: The original inspiration for this project came from my phone getting low on battery often. I also often go hiking at night, the flashlight on my phone was insufficient. So I set out to build a case that would not only let me see clearly in the night, but also have long battery life. This is why I did not use a 100W chip with Supercaps. Sure it is brighter, but it is not practical. Another design constrain I had was with the heat dissipation. This is the most powerful LED chip I can squeeze in and still be able to cool it sufficiently at full power, all other designs require significant sacrifices such as drastically decreasing battery size, increase in thickness, and power delivery. I think this design stricks a good balance between power, ergonomics, and longevity. Also, Not all lightning cables work, so far I only found the one linked below works. (I tried more than 5 brands)

WARNING: DO NOT look into the LED at close range when powered, it has the power to burn through your retina in seconds.
If you plan to make this, there are few things to remember; 1. depending on the parts you bought, my design may not fit perfectly. 2. you may need to drill a few holes here and there, especially when mounting the battery compartment. 3. The fan needs to be overvolted slightly to keep the LED cool, alternatively, you may use a 50W LED, and set the current to 1.5A, everything else remains the same. 4. You MUST print the Parts beyond the voltage booster in ABS or other higher temperature plastic. PLA will melt.

Also, I'm aware that the battery bank in this video is technically 20,000mah @ 11.1v. However, it is still the exact same amount of power as 60,000mah @ 3.7V; I used 60,000 mah to better express the sense of capacity to the average viewer. (Since nearly all commercial power banks measure mAh based on 3.7v)
