DJVI - Back on Dash (NCS) DJVI 2024-11-09 | ⏩Stream now: ncs.lnk.to/BackOnDash⏬Back on Track Origin StoryBack in the 2000’s I really enjoyed listening to the techno music that you could find on YouTube. I wanted to create similar music so I started to produce music of my own in late 2008. Back then I mostly made melodic techno & house style music and I did that for a couple of years. In early 2013 one of my long-time listeners asked me on YouTube if I could make another melodic techno song. Something similar to the music I had made in the 2010-2011 era. I can’t remember exactly how I responded to him, but I told him that maybe I could try to make something like that again.I started to produce a new song and I had a clear goal in my mind. I wanted to make a melodic song that is simple, catchy and uplifting. I wanted to capture the same feeling we had when the times were simpler and we could just go home from school, start up our favorite video game and start to listen to some cool music while playing.The production of the song started smoothly and the song was finished in a very short amount of time. Usually this is actually a good sign, because I’ve noticed that the longer I produce a song, the worse it starts to sound. When the song was finished, I knew it was pretty good and I wanted to release it as soon as possible. All that was left was to figure out a good name for it. Since the inspiration for the song came from the good old times, Back on Track was a perfect name for it. I was eager to release the song and when I finally did it…nothing happened. You see, back then I only had like 1000 followers so I only got a few hundred views, maybe a thousand within the first couple of weeks of releasing the song. The song was quickly forgotten and as usual, I moved on to produce more new music.A couple of months later a new opportunity arose. A small video game developer was searching for music for his new game. I had sent my music to game developers before, so I thought this would be another good opportunity for me to get my songs heard. This game developer was RobTop and Back on Track was one of the songs that got selected to be featured in his new little game, Geometry Dash.I was happy to get featured in the game, although I really didn't have any expectations, because most of the games won’t become very popular. I just wanted my songs to be heard by a wider audience. Still, I was excited.In August 2013 Geometry Dash was finally released and…nothing happened. Again. Even though Geometry Dash is popular now, it wasn’t an instant success. However, the game started to gain slowly but steadily new players and I did see some growth in my own stream numbers as well, but nothing major. In 2014 things started to change. In previous years I had some success with my music, but I had been an unknown artist up till now. Thanks to big streamers like PewDiePie, Geometry Dash started to gain serious awareness in 2014 and that directly translated to my music as well. Back on Track quickly became my most streamed song and I even made my own first Geometry Dash level in the summer of 2014!However, I think 2015 was the real breakthrough year for me. While I got a lot of popularity in 2014, it was nothing compared to what was coming in next year. Thanks to the constant updates, new levels and polishing of the game, Geometry Dash became a mainstream mobile game in 2015. I was also able to reach 100k YouTube subscribers and Back on Track was streamed almost 4 million times on YouTube in that year alone.Fast forward to the present day. Even after a decade, Back on Track is still my most streamed and well known song of all time. I’m very happy that I got the opportunity to make this new version of Back on Track and to be featured in NCS in the Geometry Dash album! Thank you guys for the massive support. Personally I really like the intro chorus effect at the beginning of the track and I spent a lot of time getting the chords right. I think it gives the song this deep and emotional atmosphere that blends nicely with the melodies. Of course the song will also introduce some energetic drops that create the electro house vibes. I actually started to produce this track a couple of years ago and I just recently picked up the project again and decided to finish it. They searched it for weeks but couldn't find anything. Vishaya almost gave up until he discovered a secret entrance that leads to the underground ice caves of Europa. Just as he was entering the caves, the ice passage collapsed. Vishaya was able to enter the ice caves without any injuries, thanks to one of his Moon Raiders who saw the situation and quickly pushed Vishaya and himself into the collapsing passage. They survived, but quickly realized that they were stuck. The passage didn’t lead anywhere. There was only some ancient equipment laying around and no way out.Vishaya and Moon Raider spent days in isolation. At this point, they had lost almost all hope. Even Vishaya’s fire abilities weren’t enough to break the massive wall of ice.Vishaya knew that these might be his last days alive so he decided to share with the Moon Raider why this artifact was so important to him. The Moon Raider was a mute person so he wouldn’t be able to judge Vishaya, even if he wanted to. Vishaya started his story and he told the Moon Raider that it all began over 20 years ago…Back then Vishaya was full of ambition and wanted to know everything about the Universe - at any cost. One day, he wanted to make an experiment. He had found years ago the prophecy about the OmegaVI and he was sure that by embedding specific sound waves into objects, he would be able to create an artifact powerful enough to stop the emergence of OmegaVI.Vishaya started the experiment and he asked his young son to help him with the experiment. However, everything went quickly wrong. Vishaya was able to create the artifact but he wasn’t strong enough to control it. Suddenly, the artifact caused a big magical explosion that permanently damaged Vishaya’s arm. When the smoke faded, Vishaya realized that his arm wasn’t the only thing that was damaged by the explosion. The artifact was gone and he lost his son in the explosion. Vishaya swore that one day he would find a way to bring his son back. That is why he wants to find the artifact so he could bring his son back to life as well as stop the OmegaVi.Meanwhile, back in the present day, the Moon Raider had found a secret path that led deeper to the icy caves. As they were about to enter it, the Moon Raider also wanted to reveal his true identity to Vishaya, because he realized they have a lot in common he felt that he could trust Vishaya.The Moon Raider told Vishaya that he was another ALTVI called Viper. Viper is a mechanically enhanced cyborg who had lost the ability to speak in an incident. Because of the mechanical enhancements, Viper doesn't have any emotions either.Viper used sign language to explain to Vishaya who he is. He also told Vishaya that he joined the Moon Raiders shortly after the Coalescence, because he wanted to find the artifact so he could use it to make himself whole again and get rid of the mechanical enhancements. He is certain that the artifact can be found on the moon of Jupiter called Europa.Vishaya has been studying and researching about this artifact for decades and he is sure that once he acquires it, he is able to use its power to shape and control the Multiverse. In his home universe, Vishaya is the leader of an organization called Moon Raiders and he uses this organization in search of the artifact.It is said that there are multiple artifacts that can be used to control the Multiverse. Vishay knows that in reality, these artifacts are sound waves that are magically embedded into objects. He knows this because he has acquired some of the lesser artifacts in the past. However, the Coalescence was caused by the oldest and the most powerful one of the artifacts.The reason why Vishaya seeks to control the Multiverse is to actually keep it safe. He does not want to slave people or conquer other planets nor Universes. Instead, he wants to use it for good. This is because when Vishaya was young and still learning about the Multiverse, he discovered an ancient prophecy that said that one day a new ALTVI will emerge, seeking to conquer the whole Multiverse. It also suggested that the most powerful artifact might be located on a moon. That is why Vishaya created the Moon Raiders organization and has been raiding moons all over the galaxy in the hopes of finding it. Once he finds it, he will use it to destroy this new ALTVI, when he/she reveals himself. DJVI - Cipher DJVI 2021-10-28 | ▼ Stream: fanlink.to/djvicipherOriginally I was planning to add full vocals to this song and I actually ended up doing that. However, the vocals just didn’t work with the song the way I wanted so I removed them. I still wanted to feature some vocal elements though, so instead of keeping the full vocals, I turned them into vocal chops.The vocal chops fit pretty nicely to the song and they give that cool cipher feeling. I also like the melancholic atmosphere of the song that is created by the melodies together with the vocal elements and synths.All in all, I’m very glad that I was able to use the vocals even though I had to chop them. In fact, it was actually a good thing that the vocals didn’t work because then I would not have made the vocal chops. First, I created a rolling bassline and some trance melodies but for some reason the track slowly evolved into a techno song, lol. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing!The original melody and the bassline are there but not as prominent as they used to be. I chose this direction because the track simply worked better this way. In fact I was aiming for a similar style than my track Revolution but for this song it just didn’t work. All in all I’m glad I didn’t force this track to be a trance song because I absolutely like how it turned out to be. The drop melody is very punchy and powerful and the second drop introduces even more energy and variety. But why did I remix Dance of The Violins and not some other song from F-777? Well let’s go back to the beginning. Back in April I was sitting alone in my home studio. It was a very dark evening and suddenly I saw a spider on the wall. When I looked at it more closely, I noticed that the silhouette of the spider looked like a violin! I had just recently listened to some F-777’s music and I thought to myself, why not to remix Dance of The Vio....lol I’m just messing with you xD. It was just an ordinary day and I really liked the song so I remixed it hehe.Anyway, it was really fun to remix the song.
